Girl Friday comes to you!

Educational Workshops:
Our aim is to get others creating; unlocking their imaginations and learning how to give them a platform for expressing their own ideas.

Using scenes from our current production they will learn how to:

  • Create characters from people they know using physicality and dialogue.
  • Use vocal techniques to create heightened character studies.
  • Create through story that make sense to an audience.
  • Work as a team to develop their own ideas.

Susan: "We have to nurture potential."

Our workshops use comedy as a means to free participants from fear and inhibitions.

Girl Friday are busy preparing course materials that will be available from June 2007. To be kept up to date email us at training@girlfridayproductions.co.uk. Workshops will run from September 2007.

Girl Friday members are CRB checked. Our qualifications include: MA and BA Hons. We are both members of Equity and Spotlight.

Corporate Workshops:
Do your staff live in fear of giving presentations? Know their subject, but don’t know how to make it interesting? Feel speechless in an interview? If you answered yes to just one of these or if you think staff are lacking energy then you need our help!

"I heartily recommend this musical to cheer you up at the end of a long working day ... Perhaps it could be used as a team building exercise". - Mairi Anderson, edinburghguide.com

Girl Friday understands that the success of your business depends on your staff’s ability to deliver a good presentation and communicate well with clients and customers. We know that the success of their career progression within the company starts with being able to perform well under pressure – in the interview. We also know that they are not always people who are used to being under the spotlight.

Jacqui: "Just calming the nerves."

We are offering the unique opportunity to produce a series of workshops designed to give staff opportunities to work with experienced actors to develop their vocal presentation, creativity and confidence.

Using our brand of comedy and characterizations they will experience how to:

  • Use vocal technique to project to an audience sustaining the voice and relaxing the nerves.
  • Adopt performance techniques for engaging their audience.
  • Get the most out of their material and how to rehearse a speech.
  • Learn how to use their body language to convey confidence, interest and attention.
  • Examine their own strengths and weaknesses to strengthen their performance at interview.
